It goes something like this, a guy posts something for sale. You see it and want to buy it BUT theres no price listed, You just have to guess

SELLER "Im selling this"
ME "Hey thats cool I want to buy it"
SELLER "Place your bid"
ME "How much is it"
SELLER "Im not gonna tell you"
ME "HUH? I thought you wanted to sell it"
SELLER "I do wanna sell it but you have to guess and keep making bids until you meet the number in my head"
ME "Huh?"
SELLER "Yeah keep guessing"
ME "Pound sand"

Imagine going to buy groceries and having to guess at the price?

I've always been amused by sellers who put a reserve on an item and then list with both a buy it now price and a ridiculously low opening bid.

Here's an idea: make your opening bid the same as your bottom dollar. Put your buy it now as your ideal price. If your item has enough interest, people will offer you what you want to begin with.

Couple big website gun stores are doing this now. Just post a price

Yeah, that one pisses me off. You go to a site just to check something out, but have to put it in your cart to get a price. I won't do it.
