Motorcycles and guns...for me, those are a few of my favorite things. Well, maybe like the song says "girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes," but I digress.
I've been on two wheels with a motor since 1967. How about anyone here? Have a motorcycle now or did you once ride? Whatcha' got?
My ride is a 1999 Harley Davidson Heritage Softail Classic with SILLY low miles on it which I purchased late last fall I've been two years without a bike. This one hasn't left my garage since I bought it. Waiting for dry, warmer weather.
As much as I want to ride this bike, my age is telling me that the idea may not be a sound one. Dad rode his with me until he dumped his Harley while turning into a motel age 77. He broke two ribs. He sold the bike afterwards. Those of you who are into motorcycles know that they may be more addicting than guns. Did I just say that?
Here's a pic of my lonely bike. When you have time, share a pic of yours. :)

Does a WW2 BMW with side car count? (actually a URAL complete with MG mount).

After WW2 the Soviets stole the whole manufacturing plant and continued to make the same 1934 model for years then gave/sold the equipment to the Chinese who continue to make the same bike.

It was super cool but had a TOP speed of 50mph.
Heck yes it counts! Hard to go wrong with a BMW airhead. I rode a 70's R/75 for awhile. Fun, but also a bit underpowered for me.

I rode in the 90's (my 20's), then gave it up for 24 years. After a divorce, with lots of free time on weekends with nothing to do I decided to pick it up again and got the R1250. Road it for a year, traded it in on the K1600. Now I'm thinking I'll add a sport bike to the garage (or maybe a Ducati Monster) for when I want to scrape my knees a little...

First bike was in the 50s then in the sixties I started racing, TT class San Jose mile. Did some cross country and drag racing in the 70s both bike and cars. In late 60s and 70s built a hill climber even tried a couple runs a Castle Rock Washington. For that I took a old Harley 45 but blew it up on third run. My son has all the old racing photos but I still have a couple trophies in my place from the 90s,,one Hare and Hound and third place best of show as age took control. My son has protective clear cover over pics so they won't age to fast. When I get closer to end of days my son going rent me twe wheels to make my last run to Fire lake. Ride hard and fast, leave a beautiful memory..

I've ridden nearly 400,000 miles since 1981 when I got my license @ 16 years old.
Have had dozens of bikes during that time. I do more track riding nowadays. Currently have 6 bikes. 2 of which are dirt bikes.
I do have a 2020 FJR that I bought new and have put nearly 40,000 miles on.

Started out back in early 60's with a HD 165 Hummer. Then sometime after the Hummer, traded it for a mid-late 60's Shovelhead 1100 IIRC. It was a semi built chopper of the day and still had the left foot shift and right foot brake as I recall. Over the years except while military, had several other HD's, had 1 Honda cb900 I bought from a Shriner as the precision riding team was upgrading to Goldwings, a Ducati 350 while stationed in NOB Norfolk (made a couple trips from Norfolk to New Orleans for Mardi Gra on the 350), a couple Glides over the years after discharge, 1 Softail Custom, then went without for several years after the heart attack and 4 back surgeries in early 2000's. At 60+/-, decided I wanted some more, but alas the years and health had caught up and I just couldn't throw 'em around like I did at 20-50+/-, so I bought a 1200 Evo Sportster. It turned out weighing a little under 500 lbs made all the difference. I could throw the Sporty around almost as good as the bigger bikes from years before, or at least thought I could, and enjoyed it every bit as much as any I ever had. Brought it with me to the 'institution' (retirement community) but had nowhere to keep it inside and clean. I got so tired of it being covered in dust, dirt, and other crud so I sold it in 2019. Oh yeah, never did care for the crotch rockets and never owned on, but did have a 1970's Yamaha 650 till the big wreck and slide. Yessir, I've rode a mile or two.
