They are all building crap trucks now

some are an easy fix or solution...........................DON'T get the 1's that have all of the sensors on it like lane alert and etc. i buy using price and build as so i can leave off those types of things regardless of a discounted package/packaging. i've stayed away from the 6.2 and will do so along with the small diesels. wonder if the military's new vehicles based on the canyon is having issues and i'm sure they don't have lane alerts...............maybe incoming missile alerts 🤣

The one that isn't junk and not on the list, my Honda Ridgeline. Excellent vehicle. Squeeze the handle and the tailgate opens and swings out of the way like the closet door in the house. Then you find the 9 cubic foot lockable waterproof trunk. Outstanding features. So much more convenient than other trucks. One of the best vehicles I've ever owned out of WAY too many over the decades. And yes, it's not an overly large heavy duty tow/haul machine but it does anything the majority of people need of a truck.

My 2017 Silverado High Country 6.2L w/125Kmiles is performing well. 🤞
My son's 2011 1500 w/6.5 hasn't had any issues either, but it doesn't have all this electronic crap this newer stuff has. It seems from the vid it's more about vehicles in yhe last 3 years. My 2015 3500hd has the ltz package which includes the lane departure, sensors in the bumpers and a bunch other gadgets i didn't want but got because I didn't order it the way 1 want. So far yhe p/u's worse enemy is deer!

Note that there aren't any Japanese trucks on that list. They take more pride in what they churn out. Unfortunately, all new trucks and cars are computers on four wheels. I have a dream that I wake up to a new 1972 GMC 4X4 in my garage.
Don't think they don't have issues. Toyota is having issues with having to replace truck engines and Honda having issues with the V6 engines. NOBODY builds a good vehicle anymore.

Your ridgeline has issues also. Check to see why the V6 engine in your truck is a time bomb.

Not only that vehicles are crap, but they are also selling crap vehicles for ridiculously high prices!!
that's an important issue, that believe it or not, American's are responsible for..

i read a book, decades ago about the ever increasing prices.

one is the un ions, demanding more money for the workers, and either same or less hours per week of work.

another is the AMerican consumer(s) DEMANDING MORE amenities like power everything, carpeting, heated seats, steering wheels and outside mirrors...

"Detroit listened" and gave the American consumer what they DEMANDED...at a HIGH cost to.

then there is the US. Gooberment.......DEMANDING safety features, like air bags, locking seatbelts, all around sensors, automatic braking, speed sensors, and so on and so forth...at a HUGE price on the building costs...

and the consumers DEMANDING car like ride, 4 doors, and fuel economy....

my idea of a truck, and i owned 3 of them is....2 door regular cab, 8 foot bed, 5 or 6 speed manual transmission, V-8 engines, power steering, power brakes and A/C.........maybe an AM/FM radio...i don't need power windows, or the rear window to open (i hated the 1 truck i had, that had that)......and i can put in my own "bed liner", a piece of plywood........

retail price for my 3 trucks........ 1980....$3,800, .....1985....$8,600, and 2004......$14,600

I have a 2011 flatbed dually. Long paid off. I'll drive it until it can no longer be fixed. Because even if I have to put 10-15k on repairs, it's still cheaper than buying a new one.

My son has a new F-150. It's got all this stuff I neither want nor need, but he says it's not optional. So what is optional is me not not buying one.

It used to be that the Japanese, Korean vehicles were better quality and CHEAPER than their American counterpart. Now, since COVID, they are ALL overpriced crap. Foreign vehicles are just as expensive as American vehicles. And their quality is just as suspect. And the more techno crap they put in a vehicle, the crappier they all get. Every single one of them. And the same goes for the EVs as well. Which is why we aren't buying any new vehicles unless we absolutely have to. As long as I am physically able to work on our vehicles and keep them running, I will. And the fact that you are looking at at least a $400 to $800 a month car payment, or at least $50,000 paying cash on ALL of them is ridiculous. The Asian vehicles no longer hold the title for the best quality for the money, nor do they hold their value like they used to. Yes, we all have one of these in the older models that seem to defy the odds. My 2005 Ram 1500 SLT with the 4.7 is still going at over 200,000 miles. Need to change the oil pan gasket and remove the electric cooling fan and install the stock mechanical back on, but other than that it never fails to start or run. It has more than paid for itself over the years of hauling stuff. My wife's 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander GT 3.0 V6 has 129,000 miles on it and still running. It has only had one recall on it for the liftgate. It is doing better than the Hyundai Santa Fe of the same year that she wanted, but that they wouldn't budge on the price for. I trust the Mitsubishi V6, as I had to maintain the one my Dad had in his 1989 Plymouth Acclaim LX, which had over 350,000 miles on it at the time of his accident. It never failed to start and run. Just did the regular maintenance on it. When my truck motor goes, I will probably just replace it with a rebuilt one.

Vehicles were always overpriced for what they offered. Now, they have gotten downright insulting on what they want for their crap.

This is exactly why pickup trucks are so ridiculously expensive. A bunch of latte drinking, wannabe "rugged men" yuppies wanted their "weekend warrior" pickups. They wanted the raised, manly image without actually using them for their intended purpose. And God forbid they do without their luxuries. The average pickup had decent ground clearance without the need of step bars to get into a 2-wheel drive. Now, good luck with that. The farm pickups didn't have that 4x4 height, they were work trucks, nothing more. And of course the gubmint just had to add their dumb ashed regulations and CAFE standards to the truck market. Bunch of wannabe "men" who never actually performed manual labor in their lives, other than maybe waiting tables part time. A truck was never intended to get good MPG, they are supposed to be WORK trucks. Not soccer Mom/Dad mobiles. Bunch of damed pansies ruined a perfectly good pickup truck.

reminds me of my motorcycling days and the "R.U.B.'s at the Motorcycle dealers...or at social events, bike runs, etc.......

R=Rich

U=Urban

B=Bikers

those that have the money to buy the motorcycles, but not willing to actually ride them long distances, but rather "trailer them" (trailer queens) to motor bike events....
