Emissary 9MM 5" Experience

Picked up a new Emissary black full size 9MM a few weeks ago. Pistol is running well, very happy with the overall performane and feel. Had some minor issues early with the pistol not going into battery. Needed to occasionally bump the slide or magazine to get it in. Pretty sure heavy Cerakote was / is the culprit. Can see the rails getting shiny in spots as it wears in.

Being a range toy I added a simple slip on Wilson magwell for easier loading. Will likely change the grips to a magwell cut so it looks correct and finished. Was hoping to match the stock VZ tagged grips with the identical cut (flat top right side). VZ says they don't make the grips any longer. The VZ frag are close however the cuts are smaller than stock. E-mailed Springfield with no response in a week. Will call them and see if I can figure this out.

After running about 400 rounds, have decided the rear sight needs to be changed. Have the white U on an Ecehlon carry which is great for quick target acquisition. Don't care for it on this pistol. Plan to send the slide to Novak for a 2 dot fiber rear site install.

Took it to the range yesterday along with my Kimber Rapide 9MM. Both pistols are eqally / very accurate better shooters than me for sure. The big difference is in muzzle rise with Emissary feeling much softer and rise than the Kimber. Kimber slide and overall fit is much smoother and tighter. Plan to shoot it alongside a DW Specialist next range trip.

Would like to hear other Emissary owners observations / experiences.
