That Sig Freedom is pretty slick. different look. I have an older STX.Hi @Marine63,
Thank you for your service and welcome to the forum from the Wild Wild Upper Midwest. Congrats on a couple of nice 1911s. When I got back into target sports I thought I should have one 1911 in my little arsenal. Now I have three and might get one or two more just for fun. But I digress.
My SA Garrison has VZ Diamondback grips that are extra grippy. I don't know what type of grips you like but if you like your grips to bite your hand and hold on, these are for you.

It's not that hard to avoid. A little patience and care. Some prefer to leave recoil spring pressure on and pull the slide lock out. I relieve the pressure. Spring and cap are easy to contain. Then easy align and pull the slide lock. My Bull barrels can be compressed to relieve pressure with a then remove slide lock and taken down. Reassembly same way. No idiot scratches.Hi,
It's very nice. I'm trying really hard NOT to put an idiot scratch on this one.
Thank you for your indulgence,

Very nice. My STX with new shoesShot of my 2014 Sig STX. Stock Burl and Lok G10. Need G10 in summer. Smooth wood gets slick with sweaty hands
Have set of VZ Double Diamond in blue black coming next week. Saw them on the Les Baer Handgunner and couldn't resist. More for the shoe box and another project.
