The things you think... Road Rage and Grenade Launchers

Reading some of the posts here with you guys mentioning road rage and grenade launchers, made me remember an incident of mine. I was on my way to work at the gun shop; but first I had to drop off something at a friend's house. It was a bit out of the way and I probably didnt leave early enough (my fault). After leaving her house, I pulled onto the road. I really did think I had enough room to pull in front of the oncoming car; but he must have been moving faster than I realized.

So when I pulled in front of him, he started blowing the horn and flashing his lights. I waved to say I was sorry. Then he pulled in front of me and braked hard and started squirting his windshield washer fluid so it got on mu car, (Id never seen that used as a weapon before) Again I waved. I really didnt mean to cut him off or to upset him.

I couldnt see the driver; but he was driving what I figured was a kids car, from the way it was decorated (dark tint and add on spoiler). At this point I was getting a bit nervous so I reached to be sure my handgun was ready. THATS when I realized I F'd up again that day. My holster was empty. In my haste to gather my gear, and what I had to drop off, I forgot my handgun; but I consoled myself with the thought that one of the things I had brought was my M203 with a bandolier of Flash Bangs and Pepper grenades for an after work range trip.

I stayed well back from him as we traveled. When we both made the same turn, (bad things come in threes) I moved to another lane to further separate us. I turned into the shop parking lot and he swerved into a lot across the street and whipped around to face me. I parked so my drivers door was away from him. I exited the car and loaded a Flash Bang, in case he intended to push his rage any further. Thankfully he only flipped me off and peeled off in a cloud of tyre smoke.

Im still glad I didnt have to shoot. Flash Bangs are expensive....

Turning in to a gun shop parking lot likely caused him to adopt course of action number 2. Good thing you didn't go to the grocery store.

Ill admit it was a pucker moment. If I had been forced to turn over my M203 for evidence, Id only have two other grenade launchers...

I made some serious changes after that day. My car keys are in the drawer with my carry handgun, since this is a retirement job arriving 15 minutes early is enough and buy more Flash Bangs

I've been using the washer fluid trick for years on tailgaters.
