Likewise. When Texas first started issuing LTCs back in the mid 90s, "printing" was a grey area and COULD be considered as open carry or brandishing. Open carry wasn't allowed then. The legislature finally fixed that, then allowed open carry for LTC holders, and finally "constitutional carry". However, those who go the "constitutional carry" route do not enjoy the same benefits afforded permit holders. Here's hoping that someday, somewhere over the rainbow, everyone will be able to freely exercise their full, God-given 2A rights without all the nits to pick. Not only here in Texas, but everywhere in the good ol' U.S. of A.

Anywhoo, yeah, I try very hard to not allow any "printing" to occur, not for legal reasons, but just because I don't want to be "made" by any Tom, Dick, or Harry who happens to look my way at the wrong moment. If, God forbid, I am attacked, I want the perpetrator to get the most complete and unpleasant surprise of their lifetime.

I open carried at work about half of my "Career". It's been my experience that OC causes more problems than it solves.

I've had a couple of people try to take my gun at work, a couple who I think were seriously considering it and a whole bunch more who took it as an invitation to talk smack about the fact that I was open carrying (because that's what the client wants) .

If you choose to open carry it's none of my concern but I have no interest in participating.

I already said I don't open carry.

Just not sure if I don't open carry because of the way I dress or I dress the way I do because I don't open carry.

The way I normally dress doesn't accommodate it.

I wear Wrangler cargos and an untucked flannel shirt over a t-shirt almost everyday.

i have a LTC license to carry in texas
we also have open carry for those who choose to not get licensed but are legal to carry or own etc
imo
concealed is for a reason... i prefer the day the crap goes sideways and the bad guy/gal shoots the open carry people first,
this gives me tactical advantage to get cover and protect myself or my people with me, as well as try to get distance from bad guy/gal . i prefer to live than be the target of opportunity as it is
plus here LTC you can carry places open carry is not allowed
and a benefit of the LTC is reciprocity with other states, but if you are just texas open carry and no ltc..the reciprocity is NULL

however,,,,, in the woods on the lease i carry open
lastly..... here we have the normal crowd that carries open and have ZERO idea of the law, these folks provide entertainment at wal mart
plus the few that carry 2 , one on each hip and think they are billy the kid

Can anyone show a documented case where that has happened? Not a challenge to what you say honest curiosity.
Open carry when hunting, loafing about the woods, plowing the driveway, fishing, etc. Otherwise no, if for no other reason so I don't have to see the pulling of hair, throwing ashes, wearing sack cloth & listen to the gnashing of teeth, and wailing from the moonbats.

I can't recall reading about nor hearing of a case where someone (other than an in-uniform LEO) was "shot first" because they were open carrying. I HAVE, however, read and heard reports of open carry practitioners being mugged and their gun taken BECAUSE they had said "target painted on their backs", and I've even more frequently seen reports of attempted take-aways of an open carrier's gun just because it seemed like an easy target of opportunity. I know that the "macho" feeling some might experience from open carry very likely has the opposite of the intended effect on a certain percentage of people who are bent upon perpetrating criminal acts on unwary targets. I'd just as soon not look like a prospective target of opportunity. Contrary to what I sort-of had my children convinced of, I don't have eyes in the back of my head, either.

I have a few times going for a walk in my neighborhood. I live within the city limits, in a neighborhood.

It's a very "diverse" neighborhood. My family is probably in the minority

Never had an issue

I do see folks in public from time to time.

Personally, I love it, and would love to see it made a common thing. But I also don't want to fight to fight to make it happen. But if it were common, I would do it more

NOT a documented case per se; but I recall an interview with an armed robbery suspect, (I think it was in Cali), the guy said that he could always spot the off duty cops, because they wore photographer vests to cover their gun, He siad they might as well have just open carried.

I remember seeing a white guy in Baltimore City wearing a photographer vest and "knew" he was a cop.

Inmates lie! About everything, make crap up out of whole cloth to make themselves more interesting. More bullets, more blood, greater score, etc. etc. etc. And of course, they knew everything (except how not to get caught). Every one of them thinks they are Professor James Moriarty. Remember dumb criminals get caught, smart criminals get elected to office. 25 years as a prison guard, I've been security for numerous interviews between the gullible looking for answers and some of the biggest liars you will ever see. (outside of politicians)

My mother-in-law worked quite a few years in a MALE maximum security facility. Some of the stories she could tell... She tried working in a FEMALE facility, but decided that the women were far worse to deal with.

We wore the 5.11 vest on protection details in hot climates for years. You can carry gun, spare magazines, radios, baton, passport, IFAK, OC spray, bottled water, and a bag of Fritos concealed under those things. They do look coppish but no more than a Brooks Brothers suit in a tropical climate.. But just add a Col Blake fishing hat and you look like you are on a beer run

Maas Ayoob, in his writings, was an outspoken advocate of wearing a photographer's vest as a cover garment. I don't know if he still is or not, I've sort of "fell off the wagon" as far as reading his stuff. I don't know how everyone dresses in other parts of this vast nation, but here in the former sovereign state of Tejas (at least anywhere outside of the great blue triangle), a photographer's vest sticks out like a sore thumb! MY OPINION: Optimum dress for concealed carry varies depending upon the situation and general customs where you're at.
 
I soooo want one of these "HEAT movie" vests to wear under a suit but its kinda hard to justify OTH Im just smiling about the look as I walk into the tailor, asking to be fitted with this on, it was bad enough when I asked to fitted over soft body armor

I always kinda hankered for a six pistol holster vest as seen in "Boondock Saints". And by the way, you don't have to really need one. It's OK to want something just 'cuz it's cool. I have several "over 30 round" AR magazines of various types and kinds just to give libtards an apoplexy or a heart attack. For practical purposes, they're too dang heavy for anything but range toy usage. But... If I ever have the good fortune to own or even just shoot a full auto AR, that'd be far more fun with those bad boys sticking out of the mag well.
