Range Report: Advanced Pistol Clinic, 3/16/26

Hi,

As a member I get a 20% discount on all my training classes there. They also have light competitions (bowling pin shoot, etc) and league play but I've been considering action shooting, IDPA, USPSA, or a Steel Challenge at an outdoor club near me. I know this old man could never be competitive but it would be fun. I think a different environment with a little friendly competition would add a little stress and actually aid my overall training. We'll see.

Thank you for your indulgence,

That's why I love the practical pistol at mine.
Like you said, the competition adds a level of stress.
Ours is only $5 to shoot. $ 3 if you want to shoot again (doesn't count towards the competition) and low round count (less than 20) with one required mag change.
It's fun but stress inducing, and gives decent feedback (especially if you miss or hit a good guy

What a great deal. As a walk-on guest my rates would be quite a bit more, but still affordable ($20?). I'd probably have to join that gun club to get a better rate. We'll see. ;)

Not sure how I missed this thread first time around, but once again looks like a great time was had! I’m thinking any rounds in the silhouette will likely slow down a bad guy, middle square or not!

I’m crossing my fingers that when they get done remodeling our indoor range they will add some classes like this.

BTW, was 96 degrees here today…March 20th…go figure. Got to love that acclimation time…Monday morning, March 16th, it was 32 degrees when the sun came up.

I'm glad you stopped by. Yeah, I guess I had pretty good "combat accuracy". Maybe MOA vs. MOBG (Minutes Of Bad Guy).

I think we're about done with our "weather whiplash" season and will be easing into Spring for good. I'm a little sad to see winter go. But now I can get outdoors and shoot more. ;)
