I bought a SureFire X400 Turbo but the pistol rail is not long enough. I have ordered the universal mount kit to see if that helps. Any suggestions for a replacement if it doesn't solve the problem?
What light/laser fit an Xdm? My Xdm is a few years older.

Streamlight TLR-6. Fits ours without modification.
I believe it's around 100 lumens, so it not especially bright but it works. Ours is an older model so there may be improvements available.

Which XDM do you have? How much real estate are we working with? Barrel length? Pic rail length? I have a TLR-6 on my XD45 Mod 2 Tactical (5"). It's OK. I'd like something brighter.
The X400 is a nice unit, a little on the large side. I hope the mounting kit works. Do you need a light for a sub compact? Like the XC3sub?

Yeah, older XDM rails can be a bit shorter/odd, so big units like the X400 often don’t sit right — you’re not the only one running into that.
