Hypocrisy-Politicians deserve exemptions

NO they dont! Refuse to fund the government; OK but no pay cheque for you until the government is funded. Cut Social Security OK but no private fund for you. Limit guns; OK but you also limit the guns YOUR security can carry. Ban Hi Caps, OK but no Hi Caps for your security either.

Im sure most of you saw the recent Virginia Gun Control laws. As if that wasnt bad enough. I suppose I shouldnt be surprised to have seen that they wanted to exempt themselves from the laws "because it can be dangerous...." What amazes me is that they either seemingly dont have a clue OR just dont care.

Laws are just black ink on white paper. Laws only stop people afraid of the consequences. Criminals arent afraid of laws, only getting caught

If its dangerous for politicians leaving from the same garage at the same time everyday (that was their excuse); imagine how dangerous it is for other folks who also leave at the same time and maybe work two jobs and get off late at night

If they want cops to stop wearing masks, so they can be identified, how'bout if politicians publish their home addresses

this is what happens when people do not fully think things thru.

it is also sickening that military, either current or retired, or LEO, current or retired, asre ALLOWED to have things we cannot.

to me, once retired, you are no longer anything but a civilian......PERIOD.

i have been to my range more times than i can look up right now in my booklet..

i can assure you that from time to time, the local PD in that city..??

go there on occasion to qualify....

hitting the side of a barn is NOT thier forte.........and they get to keep what we cannot..????

and THATS the problem. If youve just arrested someone, do you want them or their family knowing where your family lives? Of course we dont want a "secret police"; but perhaps therea a solution, like displaying and I.D. number that can be used for making complaints

I do caution perspective cops to scrub their social media BEFORE coming on the job, to never work too near to where they live, not to display cop decals on cars, and not to wear the uniform home, I say this as a guy whos family was threatened by a psycho. That was way before the doxing possible in todays world. I violated all my above suggestions except the social media footprint (never had one), and the psycho found us

Implement term limits and limits that you cannot leave public practice and go to work in private practice for 1 year from when you leave office (think all the folks to go to work for the military industrial complex the minute they leave office)

I don't know that it was a complete exemption.....I read somewhere that it was limited, like if they were caught with a pistol in their car on State Capital grounds....something narrow, I think. Not an outright, none of this will ever ever apply to you, kinda exemption.

Im not sure but I did see one of the politicians saying that they should be exempt because its dangerous because they all leave from the same parking lot at the same time. THAT sure sounds like they were saying that they should be exempt from more than having a gun on capital grounds...and even if it was just on capital grounds, why them? Why their place of work and not your place of work? Frankly why cant anybody have a gun on capital grounds? Who are they afraid of? They have armed PD with hi cap mags guarding them

Ultimately they make laws for us but NOT for THEM, that just doesnt seem right

I would need to dig a little, but I know the complete text of the proposed bills is out there somewhere. I just don't trust any MSM source that attempts to feed me biased information.

The law enforcement agencies need to abide by the same laws we have for firearms. If we can only have 6 rounds, then that is what they get.
They only time people get fired up anymore seems to be when we tell them little Johnny cannot dress in the girls locker room or play on their team.
You do not seem to hear about any females who want to play on boys teams or dress in their locker room.

Hahaha I remember when cops had revolvers and hi cap 9s were hitting the markets. Back then it was the cops that were under gunned. Wow how times have changed.

When my old department decided to issue Patrol Rifles they opted for 20" carry handle guns and not every cop was issued one. Today every car has am 11.5" with an optic. Id like a SBR in my car and Id pay for the lock just to meet PD standards....
