Where does your state stand on this 2025 gun ownership map?

I thought Texas would’ve been higher.
NJ would be higher if the thug guns of Newark and Camden were included.
So let’s keep this in perspective and look at the data another way - (actual number of gun owners!). Not going to do the math for all 50 States, but it certainly does give a different perspective. Texas being stuck with Democrat gun haters in Houston, San Antonio, Dallas/Ft. Worth, and Austin certainly skews “percentage” of gun owners but cannot skew “total number” of gun owners.

2025 population estimates

Texas - 31,709,821 (46% = 14,586,517.66 gun owners)

Montana - 1,144,694 (66% = 755,498.04 gun owners)

Estimates from here:

WI here, and I'm kind of surprised the number is only 45%...Pretty much everyone I know has a least one firearm, and there is a LOT of hunting up here....

45%??? C'mon cheeseheads we're better than this LOL!
Way too low. There's no records of guns bought at Gun Shows or private sales. A lot of Hunters here and they do buy Hunting rifles for their Families ay shows. The Amish buy a lot of rifles and shotguns at Gun Shows, no kidding. Never a handgun.

You must live in upper state. Gotta' admit, that's some nice country. You and the State of Jefferson must have something in common. I know an OLD Marine who lives in Albany. I was there around 1982 and it was nice. Not sure about now though.

The farther south you go in Illinois the more you think you aren’t in Illinois. I used to live 30 minutes away from Wisconsin and moved farther south (just below I-80) and let me tell ya. It ain’t Kansas anymore heading to Iowa.

Come on down here by me and you would swear you went to heaven. Compared to some places in Illinois that is.

Oregon higher than TX. In a way, doesn't surprise me. OTOH, I don't know Pew Research methodology. Are these percentages people who admit to owning a gun? The reality might be different.
If this was a telephonic poll, I imagine a lot of firearm owners were hesitant to tell someone they own firearms. “Oh, sure, unknown person, I own lots of guns. Need my address for your poll?”.

When I lived in IL I 74 was the line separating 2 different cultures and then crossing I 70 (I think) in Effingham continuing South on 57 was another culture change. I will state that I wasn't aware of anyone that didn't have at least, a firearm of some type.

Gotta wonder if only adults are included in the counting. Not sure my kids would include themselves as owners, which implies buying said gun. Except for the youngest who readily claimed 2 pistols upon firing them, “did you bring my SIG? where’s my .22?”.

South of I-64 there will be no questions about the “damn yankee” line having been crossed. The avatar says it all 😎
