Google Is Quietly Censoring Pro-Gun Websites — And It’s Working

As I understand it, Google claims to be a publisher rather than an editor (a distinction that is supposed to place them above regulation). If they are "editing/restricting" content, then they become subject to regulation.

If it's true that Google (or any other site) is deliberately trying to regulate speech via content, they become liable to litigation. At current, we have an administration that views this sort of activity in a bad light. Perhaps Google anticipates a change in the makeup of Congress and figures they will be able to skate by.

I also hate the way google follows you with ads of things you looked at previously or even a picture site. i get all these guys with makeup on, ya click on one tranny pic.....

I mention this frequently, I've had Google suggest that I review places that I only went to to do a security check on and MY phone was off.

I've had Facebook recommend people to me as friends that I had no other connection with than we worked in the same building and even that they were there during the business day and I was there at 2:00 in the morning checking notes in a log book and signing off that I'd been there.

But Facebook knew I was there.

I wouldn’t be too sure that some OG gun organizations aren’t trying to limit access to newer gun organizations. It is no secret that they are all competing for the same dollars. Some have a history of fraudulently using those dollars, some have a history of using those dollars to pay for fighting anti-gun legislation. Google will work for the highest bidder.

Big brother IS watching/listeniing, ALL the time. You doubt it? Start talking to your wife about something neither of you has ANY interest in. Very soon you’ll be getting ads for the product you were discussing. If we were smart we’d ditch these darn machines-but we won’t, so BIG Brother will continue to track and monitor us. It’ll make it a lot easier to round us up when the time comes😡

It was mentioned above that gun programs can still be seen on The Outdoors Channel. We have direcTv which charges more that the already high monthly fee to get that channel which is now part of their 'premier' subscription. We refuse to pay more when we're on fixed incomes and crappy pensions with no annual COLA.
And Walmart was mentioned for gun magazines on the stand. We haven't shopped at Walmart for years, so while that may be an accurate statement, we'll never know.

Was just trying to give you some information on the gun shows and magazines, excuse me…….

As of this writing I have not been impacted (to the best of my knowledge) and have never believed I had total privacy when out in the public domain. It's great to live in one's own ignorant bliss and keep invasive chatter to a minimum.

It was good advice, I thought the shows had been cancelled. I immediately called DIRECtv to see if I could access The Outdoor Channel. Got the disappointing response with the additional fee cost. Thank you Annihilator.

Google has the largest collection of personal data in the world and backs up the entire internet every single day. Think about that - the entire internet, every single day. Google is not a search engine, it is a data collection center and has the goods on you, me and literally anyone you know. No one is exempt, despite any precautions people may try and exercise. All of that info is for sale. As the saying goes - information is power.
