At 78 this is the first cake I've ever made. My Mom cooked this cake many, many times as it was my favorite. She didn't use cake mixes. Wish I had dark brown sugar as it looked better.

Been a little rough today, had some bug that came and I hope has left. Slept all afternoon, solid 8 hours, but awake now. I'll try to get back to sleep soon. Praying all in the storms path stay safe and dry... Adios Amigos!

Up with a cup of coffee and a blueberry muffin. Husky food ready for my girl. I will take Maggie to Lowes today as tomorrow and Friday might be a little wet. We could really use it. Maggie knows that they sell dog toys there now.
