I Live In Another America, and it's Good.

I don’t do well with cold. That’s why I chose South Alabama and the gulf coast.

The yankees continue to invade, and it’s irritating.
Just over the Florida border from you in Santa Rosa County. I used to shoot skeet regular at Styx River range and took a couple LE firearm instructor courses at Baldwin County S.O. range. I get to Bass Pro in Foley now and again.

Tell me about Idaho gun laws. Magazine limits? Full Auto/Suppressor/SBR/Destructive Devices friendly?
Concealed Carry? Waiting periods?

Gas prices?
Taxes?

I grew up with Americana and pride for our country.
The immigrants of the past assimilated and were proud of their heritage but became a fabric of America.
Chinatown in San Francisco, the Irish in New York, etc. Proud of their homeland but even more proud to be an American.

I dont see that anymore. They come here and just want to take over with their culture only. Shove Americana aside. Especially in my suburbs. We have Muslim/Middle East and India. they are not wanting to assimilate. even making the national news and the Gov of Texas even had to step in for Muslim only neighborhoods.
The Liberal Left is the same way. Only what WE want. Nothing else.

It's good to know and enjoy other countries/cultures, but not to the detriment of America.

the greater majority opinion of the country (regardless of race/religion) is letting the lesser minority opinion take over.
the 90% is letting the 10% take over with their ideology.
The 10% unfortunately are winning

There are few sanctuaries of freedom remaining. Reasons for our societal and governmental decline all point to the same factors seen in other failing societies; power, money, and religion, used carelessly and nefariously.

You know, when you travel around America you find large pockets of real/old America. The Liberals run the cities and the airwaves, so they make you think that they are in the majority. But they are not. America is full of great people.

Ever watch "Swamp People"? They are living the sustainable Liberal dream. Yet I don't know a Lib that is tough enough to live like that. And I sure would quit my job if my boss told me to go down there and confiscate all their guns! Take heart. The majority of Americans and not man-bun wearing men and purple haired women. They just get the TV coverage because the majority of Americans are at work or spending their off hours with their family, not trying to be a reality TV star, which is so far from real the device has not been perfected that can measure it. Take heart my friends and vote in every election. More of us than them!

I believe the main reason why so much of the Northern plateau states remain without leftists is because they can't work (physically), can't stand being uncomfortable, (it's cold) and they can't find anyone to listen to them whine!

Just my thoughts, yours may differ...

Yeah, I never had time to “protest” or try to “find myself”, I had to work🙄. The silent majority better wake up and VOTE or we are going the rest of the way down the drain.

I live in NW PA and have my whole life. Definitely not like that now.

Maybe some of the real small towns in Erie County are like that, but, I doubt it

I actually live and work within the limits of the City of Erie....definitely ain't like

The changes brought about by Covid are down right scary, and I suspect it’s not just seen here in Erie, county,Pa but all over. Store closings can be seen ongoing, restaurants mostly empty. Is there a bright light for our community future? I fear not unless our young adults stick around, work hard and rebuild.
I’m sorry to sound so down, but it’s the memories of yesterday that that make me yearn for what once was.

Boy howdy! I TRY to be satiated with the knowledge that I was able to live in those glorious times. Unfortunately, it turns my stomach to think of what future may be awaiting my grandchildren. I can only have hope that life will be good for them.

Between the WA Cascades & northern MN the folks in the northern tier states are a lot tougher than you think, because we tough it out and embrace our weather which weeds out the weaklings.

We often hope for a very hard winter so the invaders change their minds and scamper back down south permanently.

But you're welcome to visit us in the spring, summer & fall and spend a lot of $$.

Just don't become griz food, hug a bison and/or a moose then wonder why you go flying thru the air, get lost in the wilds of the Dakotas and get eaten alive by masses of blackflies in the Boundary Waters of MN.

Regarding the Southern Tier states...

I doubt there will ever be a bounce back

60 years plus of doing the same thing.

Always 20 years behind the curve on anything

Trying to rebuild around tourism in a place that doesn't get nice weather long enough. Plus tourism traditionally creates low paying jobs and crime

Drug addicts milling about the city like a scene straight out of the Walking Dead

Political infighting while houses sit empty that could be housing some of the homeless (if you're not form here you might not understand the exact situation I am talking about)
