What have you bought firearms related in the last 48 hours?

Funny, I was looking at the data for this cartridge in the Lee manual this morning. It looks like a real whistler! Were there ever any factory guns turned out with this chambering? I've always been under the impression that it was a one-off, custom gun only. I'd not be surprised if Thompson - Center offered it as a factory chambering for their Contender pistols, but when I say "factory", I'm really thinking more in terms of revolvers.
The Bain/Davis did a revolver version, but the reports suggested the results were marginal

Nice. When were you out there? Pre- Clint departure or after? I'm trying to get a little sense of what T/R is like now that Clint and Heidi have moved on.
Was there in 1990 or 91 still in Texas hill country. Can't remember Clint's wife's name then but prior to Heidi. My newspaper sent me to do a story on Thunder Ranch about a month later went back to attend the Defensive Pistol class. Did an interview with Clint, a very good instructor, all around good guy. Think the ranch is in Oregon now don't remember when they left Texas.

Yeah, the Texas location was out west of Kerrville, a bit west of Mountain Home (really just a post office and a volunteer FD station). They (Clint and Heidi) didn't actually have ownership of the Texas location, and so they bought the Oregon property and moved there just before 2000. I was in the midst of "life, career, raising kids, 'n stuff" and missed the opportunity to attend classes in the Texas location. Since retirement, I've made the trek to T/R Oregon several times for various courses. It was a bit more expensive than if I'd attended while it was situated "on my back doorstep", but still well worth the time, cost and effort. Plus the drive out there is beautiful, I haven't tired of it yet.

Clint and Heidi recently sold the T/R Oregon site (and I believe the T/R brand) and they've moved elsewhere. Classes continue to be offered under the T/R brand at that location. If the new owner(s) (whoever they are) managed to retain most of Clint's instructors, then the courses will still be quite worthwhile.

The Texas location was really nice the outdoor ranges were very well kept up and the large shoot-house was a lot of fun. When I was there Clint had to be in his late 30's, early 40's must be somewhat of an old timer now. Think his first wife died from cancer can't remember for sure, wish I remembered her name she was a nice lady.

Picked up this Milt Sparks holster with Thunder Ranch logo while attending my class.

Purchased a brand new Walther PPS M2 with night sights. I wanted a small gun for the summer and this should fit the bill. I know it only holds a total of 9 rounds but that is all I should need. Will fit nicely in my t-shirt side holster. This is the first one for the year!
