Welcome Message

Hi,

In addition to my new Hellion, I have two XD .45s, a 1911, an M6, and one of my absolute favorite long guns - a NM M1A. However, I also have Glocks, SIGs, and a few other odds and ends for handguns, as well as a modest-ish collection of Milsurp rifles. Plus a couple hunting rifles and a custom built (by me) pseudo-Scout rifle built on a 98k action.

Even though I am retired, I have worked USAF aircraft ever since then; just not ones with an F in front of the designator; A's, C's, and U's. So I didn't have much of an adjustment period, really.

Good to know you. I haven't delved into any surplus firearms. Perhaps my 'one-of-each' collection could use one. ;)

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Hello everyone!

I’m PreparedPearl from the PNW and I’m excited to join the forum. My son recently gifted me a Springfield Hellcat Pro, complete with accessories and the original kit, and this is the beginning of a very intentional journey for me.

My focus is personal protection, situational awareness, responsible carry, and becoming confident through proper training and education. I’m especially interested in hearing from others in the community about EDC setups, comfort, training, mindset, and what has helped you most as you learned.

Looking forward to learning from everyone here and becoming part of the community!

Welcome to the forum from the Wild Wild Upper Midwest. The Hellcat Pro is a nice piece of kit. Thanks for joining us.

The majority of my training is geared toward self defense, that's the focus of the classes at my range, rather than competition. Be methodical with your training. Don't add too many new things all at once. Practice a skill until you've mastered it, then move on. Seek classes from qualified instructors and practice consistently. Dry fire practice at home is huge, maybe with a laser cartridge system. I have a basement laser range for when I can't practice live fire.

I'm glad you found us. Stick around and get to know this odd bunch.

Hi BassCliff!

Thank you for the warm welcome! You have quite the setup there. I have seen the laser training system and intend to purchase it. Thank you for the advice, I am definitely taking heed. The Hellcat Pro is my very first firearm, my son is a veteran so he said if I was to get anything, I needed a Hellcat Pro to start. Smart kid from what I understand about the selection. Glad I raised him right! LOL

I plan to be here and not disappear. You all are stuck with me! 😉
