Auto-Ordnance is introducing a modern evolution of a combat classic with the release of the Lightweight M1 Thompson.

Chambered in the legendary .45 ACP, this new iteration retains the iconic silhouette of the original military workhorse while drastically increasing its portability and accessibility for the modern shooter.

By engineering the firearm with a high-strength, lightweight alloy receiver and simulated American Walnut polymer furniture, Auto-Ordnance has achieved a significant weight reduction of approximately five pounds.

This makes the new model 34.8% lighter than the traditional steel-and-wood TM1, a design choice that provides the classic look of the "Tommy Gun" with the added benefits of reduced shooter fatigue and a more competitive price point.

Each Lightweight M1 Thompson comes standard with one stick magazine and is available in either 30-round or 10-round capacities to meet various regulatory and user needs. Whether for a dedicated collector or a recreational shooter, the Lightweight M1 provides the unmistakable experience of an American icon in a package optimized for today's range.

MSRP: $1,246

Might look cool when they chop off about 10 inches of barrel
it does come in SBR form:

Being in my forties has been a steep learning curve... in my head I still tend to want to think of myself as the twentysomething hotshot who ditched college classes for a week to crash a party full of retired Strategic Air Command colonels and generals (B-52 fiftieth birthday) and found himself accepted as an equal. (It was a real trip having one of those old Wing Kings announce "this young man is half a bubble off plumb, but in the kind of a good way that we could have really used on the modification team at Boeing when our birds were new.")
