Former Attorney General Pam Bondi diagnosed with thyroid cancer and recovering from treatment

I knew her as a prosecutor 20+ years ago. She has always been a strong supporter of law enforcement and a person of principle. It saddens me thst she has been distracted from her duties with this illness. Wishing a fast recovery for her. The news comes on the heels of news of Tulsi Gabbard's departure due to her husband's cancer. Two strong women sidelined from public service.
 
Working in the National Capital Region especially at the higher levels brings on high intensity stress exceeded only by combat in my experience. Some can deal with it, some thrive in it, while in others it can take a toll physically, mentally and spiritually. I'm not saying I know what the background or causes of Bondi's illness are, just that in some the stress may reduce the natural defenses a body has or accelerate the development of adverse conditions. I pray for the best for her.

One of the many reasons I never went to DC for an full-time assignment, and even on a detail.
