Black sights vs black target

Hi,

Hi,

Would I be struck by lightning if I put a bit of white on the front sight of my M1A so I can see it against a black silhouette?

How do other folks solve this problem?

Bye for now

I don't care for black sights either. I've even gone so fare as to use this stuff.

Although the Glow-On phospherous paint will fade in brightness until it's "recharged", the yellow and green do make the sights easier to see. But a bright white paint would probably work just as well.

I tried the Glow-on with a couple of my pistols but didn't keep it. I ended up swapping the sights for some tritium.

Seems you've been "lurking" here for a while. Thanks for joining the community.

Thank you for your indulgence,

For years training recruit officers on revolvers we put flourescent orange on the front sight and green on the rear notch to help them learn sight alignment and to get contrast against the black targets. Most guys left the paint on there on the street. Fiber inserts were not available in the day. Trijicon night sights came along and improved sight picture immeasurably both day and night.

I would put a Trijicon tritium night sight on the rifle for a permanent solution.
