Full-sized, Compact and Subcompact: What’s the Difference?

To me it has always been about the ability to conceal the firearm. As I aged, weight became more of a consideration after 10-16 hour days of concealed carry. With the proper effort one can learn to shoot an XDs in .45 ACP but concealing a full size 1911 in jeans and a T Shirt is impossible.

With the proper attire, you can conceal most any handgun. I have a great holster for concealing the Glock Model 20. (Ted Blocker).

The problem is hot weather. It is crazy to try to not pass out while wearing a constructed suit or sport coat when outdoors in the sun when it is 85+ degree F.😓 Some of us refuse to dress like a clown in oversized clothes which eliminates another option. My absolute favorite concealed carry is a Glock 30 S but only in the winter. I have a hard enough time with bowling shirts (Nat Nast) and a SA XDs in .45ACP.

A loosely-fitted windbreaker can conceal a 4-5" barreled handgun.
Too hot and IDs you as a gun carrier if it isn't raining. Someone from Oregon could wear one every day almost. Someone from Florida, parts of Texas and most of Arizona would look like freaks most of the Summer. That is even true for most of Illinois or Missouri. It was over 90 degrees F with no rain in sight in Central Illinois today.

I found a meme with a guy in a speedo "concealed carrying" his Glock, but I thought the mods would delete it. So all I have is this:

So subcompact is a chihuahua, compact is boxer sized and labs are full sized?

The old school attitude was to pick the gun you wanted in your hand in a gunfight , and dress around it . And no , it wasn't as difficult as current trends often make it out to be .

Tomorrow , l'll be carrying G21 in the heat wave , and l'll be no more clown like , or uncomfortable than if l wasn't armed .
