SUPREME COURT DENIES CERT IN 18-20 CARRY CASE

I agree that not all 18 year olds are responsible enough to carry a firearm. But that shouldn’t stop the ones who are from getting that freedom.
Valid point but arent there responsible 16 year olds? and what about the 5 year old that called 911 when his grandmother had a heart attack? Isnt that responsible?

We know that there were 16 year olds who lied to enlist for WW2.

Im joking but if 18 is the new number and if some/many/most 18 year olds arent responsible, why then THAT number?

18 is genrally considered an adult in the US.
Why, I don't know. Maybe becuase that's teh age most graduate highschool?

It's not my fault the parents didn't raise their kids to be adults...
(y) And it's not always the parent's fault that some 50 male child flatly refuses to grow up! (note I didn't say "man");)
The 2A is a "natural right" protected by the constitution and has nothing to do with preemptive opinion base yardstick of maturity or competence. That's one of the risks we take for living in a free society. JMHO, if you don't like it get over it or move to some place where the Gov. can make those decisions for you. Just don't cry, **** and moan when it's your ox getting gored. One is an adult at 18 or 21, pick one and stick to it. That includes guns, booze, cigarettes, marriage, military service, voting, age of consent, etc.

Guys first this is a fun discussion and the laws is well, the LAW; but as for a "base yardstick", theres ample evidence to suggest the Constitution was written and intended for citizens of a religious and moral status. Its also pretty clear that not all religions were included in the freedom of religion clause.

Further when the voting age was changed to 18; Id suggest that 18 year olds were generally more mature then todays coddled youth.
