Echelon 4.0C with Sharps Grip Module

JRP

The gun is great as is, but the Sharps Brothers grip module gives it an entirely different, and to me very nice feel. It was easy for me to install after viewing XD Man you tube video on COG removal and install and the installation video from Spyder, Drones, and Guns (learned from the challenges he experienced installing it)!

If I haven't said it yet, Welcome to the forum from the Wild Wild Upper Midwest.

I've been interested in the Sharps Bros aluminum module. The extra heft and the grip angle are intriguing. How's the fit of the slide?

I have two Echelons now and I've been thinking of tricking out one of them, just for fun. They must be really popular. The website says they are sold out. Let us know how yours behaves when you get to the range. Thanks!

Thank you for your indulgence

I am pretty much a new shooter, only beginning about January of this year. For me the heavier and more solid feel of the Sharps Bros grip module helps with recoil. I also installed an Apex guide rod which also helps...

I do like it. I still do better with my Echelon 4.5F however...

I am pretty much an Echelon guy so far....

So the Sharps Grip Module is great once you slather it in grip tape? What’s the point?

Hi,

So the Sharps Grip Module is great once you slather it in grip tape? What’s the point?

I'm thinking, since the aluminum grip module is twice the weight of the polymer grip module (8oz vs. 4oz) the pistol would run a little smoother, even less recoil. I probably won't use the skateboard tape but I'm very interested in the aluminum grip module and, if they're grippy enough, the aluminum (diamond checkered) grip panels.

Now to decide if I want these parts on the 4.5F or the 5.28 threaded barrel. But I'm in no hurry. I have parts for other pistols to work with first. ;)

Thank you for your indulgence,

I've been practicing, training, and collecting only since August of 2020. That was kind of a rough time to get back into the sport, especially being in California. But I escaped and have been making up for lost time. ;) This bunch has been real accomodating to this old noob. There are lots of friendly, helpful folks around here... and a few :poop:'s. ( ) I hope you stick around.

I get the point of the Sharps Grip Module - part of which is changeable grips. I just don’t get the point of spending the bucks and then trashing it with grip
tape. I guess there’s no accounting for taste.

By the way, regarding the slide fit on my Sharps Bro grip, there is more play (less that 1/16" maybe 1/32"). My other Echelon grips have less movement laterally. I do not know if this is significant or not?

Since I have some hand numbness, for me at least the Talon grip seems to help some....
