So not to ridicule this guy, it took some nuts (well at least one) to say he screwed ip.

It also is a reminder don’t speed reholster and hammer fired guns can be your friend

Balls are not the worst of it. The femoral artery is right there in the region as well. Ask any paramedic about how you get a tourniquet above a shot to the groin. Drawing and re-holstering safely is a skill that must be practiced many thousands of times but is often neglected. I watched many novices and experienced officers on the draw and reholstering and it is unsettling to see lapses in trigger finger discipline and muzzle control. A small error in technique can cascade into a catastrophic mistake as things speed up. With a new person on my range I make the student do a number of repetitions with an unloaded pistol as a safety check. I would not allow appendix carry or IWB carry in any of my courses, if for no other resaon because I have no idea of their skill level. Even with OWB strong side carry there are still negligent self shootings. My advice is don't do appendix carry but if you insist, practice until you can do it in your sleep and have a trusted sidekick watch your technique.

I will say for the against AIWB I see just as many Folks sweep theor leg femoral artery drawing from the 3/4 or 8/9 position. And I am not talking about bow leg Sheriff Woody types.

And they are pointed at ankles, legs and other veiny bits that if hit would cause a lot of blood flow.

I believe the bigger point is don’t get in a hurry especially when reholstering and some will argue the WML homsters are a huge liability as that whole opening for the light allows a lot of fabric the chance to get in there. Not an issue whem you have time but imagine one of the only times having to holster quick (a pre deployment use of the firearm in defense and police are coming fast) yeah while minuscule risk of being in a shootings it can play into it .

Agreed. We don't spend enough time impressing on new shooters safe draw and re-holstering. I have friends in their 70's who still point their pistol at their hip when re-holstering and I ride them about it, but old bad habits die hard. And don't get me started on trigger finger discipline
