Hi @HillbillyCochise,

Let me welcome you to the forum. Seems you've been here for a little while but I haven't said, "Hey Howdy Hey!"

Nice build you got there. I'm not smart enough to build but I've got a couple PCCs, just a S&W M&P FPC and a Henry in .357 Magnum. Both are fun to shoot.

I've been looking at a Saint Victor PCC. Do they make one in 10mm? I'll have to check. Good to have you here.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

I posted this on it’s own but for those interested here’s a interesting new take with the Ruger PC9 aka PPSh LOL

Once you understand that the PCC is just a SMG, then the field opens up. I suspect that most PCC owners live in a location where a SMG would shine. The SMG operational realm is small but it shines in that realm. Outside of the world it shows its weaknesses. If I live on the plains of the mid west or the deserts of the south west I might want a full power (308) rifle but in and urban/suburban area the SMG/PCC rules

No, a PCC is not a SMG. do i need to explain the difference?
Yes OFCOURSE a PCC is semi only but they can be used in the same tactical role as a SMG

Most civilians will never spend the $$$ for a full auto weapon and those that do generally dont intend to use them in a tactical/self defense role. Sadly McClure-Volkmer which banned new production of full auto weapons for civilian sale, turned FA weapons into investments instead of weapons. Far too many dentists and chiropractors etc, began snatching them up as 401K supplements causing a $300 STEn to become a $20K sit on a shelf piece of metal. Add to that the many FA club guys refuse to allow PCCs to compete against them in their closed club games which just might show how close the two are functionally and tactically related

That being said a properly outfitted PCC (better if SBRd and equipped with a Binary or perhaps a FRT) can be used in the same role. Even a semi only can still be used in that role, especially when you consider that good tactical use is a short burst instead of a Hollywood mag dump

McClure-Volkmer has put us in a situation where we must make the best use of what we have available. So yes by the purest definition a PPC is not a SMG; but I think its best to consider them gypsy twins born out of love and desperation AND use them accordingly

***I intend no disrespect to you BeltFed or any FA owners (Im one of you); but I think you would agree the collector market has twisted since 1986. Back then ordinary folks could buy and shoot MGs and SMGs and still pay the rent. I paid $335.00 for my STEn in 1980 and $250.00 for my first Mac 10. Even a M16 could be had for under $1000.00 Those were affordable prices back then, today a transferable STEn or Mac is easily $15,000.00 and a M16 can be $50,000.00, not exactly spare cash.

Yes, I've been hearing it for a while now. I'm researching them.

Thanks for the kind words.
Im a fan of INFORCE lights. They make White AND White/IR combination lights with a safety lever to block the switch to prevent accidental light when not wanted. They are reasonably priced $150 which is way cheaper then other options.

If youve got the $$$ then look at the VAMPIRE lights from Surefire

I've standardized on the Inforce lights as my high-powered weapon light, on the support side, paired with a Princeton Tec Switch Rail light as a low-lumen Navigation light on the opposite side.

I first started out using the SureFire LED Helmet Light with an adapter for the nav light but moved to the Princeton Tec Switch Rail Light.
