USS Georgia--Last Patrol

OldGrunt

Here are a few pictures of the USS Georgia, coming into Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, GA, from its very last patrol. It will be retired by the end of the month. While I was in the Marine Corps, I did a hitch in Marine Corps Security Forces right here, where these pictures were taken. Back then, it was high security, and pictures found on anyone like this meant a trip to Leavenworth. I stood post right here, and even pulled security on this sub. The sad thing is, these subs being retired are not being replaced.

Shame. No replacement yet.
US and the SEALs are losing a valuable asset.
