Hey there gang!
I was downstairs putting together my kit when Mrs. BassCliff came down to tell me she was going to run some errands. She saw my safe and said, "It looks like it's full. You can't have any more until you get rid of something." Doh! Why didn't I shut the door?
It's OK, there's still a little room to squeeze in one or two more. 
Anyway, I did make it to the range this afternoon. I wasn't sure if I was going to go. I had volunteered to help with the landscaping at the church offices this morning. Turns out only three old guys showed up to help with the project. We got everything done we needed to but I was searching for analgesics when I got home. Once the pain subsided and I got some caffeine in me, I was raring to go. It was a very nice day today. Here's a picture just around the corner from the newer facility.
I brought most of my "long barrel" 9mm pistols. You see the Echelon 5.28" Threaded Barrel, XDM Elite Precision 5.25", Glock 17L (6"), and the Echelon 4.5F Comp. I will shoot them in that order.
Distances today were split between 10 yards and 15 yards. You see other stuff going on here at the range. It's not the full calendar but there are a couple of things there I'd like to participate in.
Here is the first target using the Echelon 5.28 at 10 yards, 20 rounds.
Look at that! With generous line breaks, everything is in the black with 17 hits in the 10 ring. That's pretty good for this old guy. Let's try another, same thing.
I think that one is a little bit tighter, more hits in the X ring. I think I like this pistol a lot. Glam shot, anyone?
Well, since this is going above average for me, why not push the target out to 15 yards and have a go at it?
Oh drat. Not as good as those Texas boys, but not bad for me. There's only three hits out of the black (one WAY out) and more than half in the 10 ring. I think with a little more practice it will tighten up. Fingers crossed.
I saved 10 rounds and my favorite target, hoping to chew out the bullseye at 10 yards. Maybe next time.
Next up is the XDM Elite Precision 5.25, here's 20 rounds at 10 yards into a new B-8 center.
Oh drat. You'd think I could at least keep them all in the black. I don't like the blacked out rear sight on this one but I'm adjusting. I guess I shouldn't kick myself too hard. All but three out of 20 are in the 10 ring. I'll send the next target out to 15 yards for 20 more hits.
Yeah, a little more spread than I like. Let's hope this one improves as well. Again I saved 10 rounds for my favorite target at 10 yards. It came back like this. Not a terrible group, I guess.
Then I noticed I was the only shooter on the range.
I thought about running a timed 10-10-10 drill, but my solitary shooting didn't last long. So I kept with my plan and put 50 rounds through my one and only, ridiculously long, Glock G17L with its 6" barrel.
Keeping with the above average theme for today's session, I've got over half in the 10 ring. Let's send a target out to 15 yards and see what the Glock can do. Well, we'll see what I can do.
Only three out of the black but 13 in the 10 ring. That's OK for a half-blind old fart like me. But I am cheating a little bit. These are my Top Focal shooting glasses. You can see the bifocal at the top of the lens over my right eye. This lets me see my front sight clearly.
