Benelli’s new M2-G1 Tactical updates the proven M2 with an 18.5-inch barrel, 7+1 capacity, M-LOK forend, enlarged controls and a beveled loading port. Add ghost-ring sights, a Picatinny rail and optional five-position stock, and it looks purpose-built for defensive use right out of the box.

A Word from Benelli on the New M2-G1 12 Gauge

“The all-new Benelli M2-G1 delivers a cleaner, more controlled approach to tactical performance through Benelli’s new Rear Piston Operated (R.P.O.) system. Designed around dual short-stroke pistons positioned closer to the chamber, the M2-G1 reduces fouling, improves long-term consistency, and delivers the rugged reliability expected from Benelli. Combined with aggressive tactical ergonomics, a 5-position collapsible stock, upgraded pistol grip, and extended 7+1 capacity, the M2-G1 is built to perform when everything is on the line.”

The new Benelli M2-G1 shotgun looks aesthetically attractive, but what is new on the inside? For starters, they have beveled the loading port for faster reloads, you have the new RPO gas system, and enlarged controls for easier manipulations of controls with gloved hands.
  • Beveled Loading Port - Faster, more efficient reloads
  • Rear Piston Operated (R.P.O.) Gas System - Cleaner, more controlled operation
  • Dual Short-Stroke Pistons - Positioned near the chamber to reduce fouling exposure
  • Enlarged Controls - Faster, smoother manipulation

Been looking for the M4 with an adjustable stock for 5 years....have yet to see one locally. This one seems similarly priced, and includes a larger capacity magazine standard....my interest is piqued. I wish Bassbob was here for his opinion. He was lusting for a specific M4 as well....

$1,699-1,899 depending on the stock.

Since this is new it will be interesting to see reviews.

I'll stick with my Beretta M4, but if I got another tac shotgun it would be a 1301.

The Beretta M4 EXT has the larger capacity mag now vs. the past neutered versions.

Five distinct variations comprise the M2-G1 debut lineup. These include:
  • Gray fixed stock / 5+1 capacity / MSRP $1,829 (SKU 11610)
  • Gray fixed stock / 7+1 capacity / MSRP $1,949 (SKU 11611)
  • Gray 5-position stock / 7+1 capacity / MSRP $2,049 (SKU 11612)
  • FDE 5-position stock / 7+1 capacity / MSRP $2,149 (SKU 11617)
  • MultiCam Black 5-position stock / 7+1 capacity / MSRP $2,149 (SKU 11622)

I’m a 1301 fan and that defends the homestead. If buying again this would get a look, but the 1301 is pretty slick. I always chuckle when I see folks talk about needing bigger magazines on shotguns. If you can’t resolve anything a civilian is apt to encounter with 1/2 dozen 12 gauge rounds you’re in an unwinnable situation😏

Benelli's response to the Beretta M4, albeit without the decades of proven military-use as per the M4.

And basically at the same price point.

With the EXT Beretta did a few upgrades that we M4'ers have done with ours for years.

My H20 M4 is enhanced a bit more than the EXT.

Don't mean pick nits, but you've referenced a "Beretta" M4 a couple times....I am only familiar with a Benelli M4. Is there a relationship there of which I am unaware? Or maybe I'm not reading your posts correctly. I do like bourbon.

Sorry my bad.

Got the two "Bs" backward. Been multi-tasking too much.

Just reverse the two, as appropriately, in my posts.
