Sunday to Thursday and Off to Range - SA Ronin EMP 4

Lab4Us

Professional
Late Sunday I sought some input on the SA Ronin EMP as I was thinking about trying a 9mm built 1911. From that feedback and perusing reviews, Reddits, and YouTube on said gun, decided to try one. Ordered from KYGUNCO and arrived at LGS yesterday, and I picked it up around 5.

Spent about an hour cleaning out all the residue from test fires, and pretty sure they added storage lubricant after. Took a beat to get it all out. Remembered to add grip screw o rings BEFORE almost losing one or more - which is when I usually remember 😀.

Headed to range to run a couple hundred rounds of various brands, types, and weights through it and will follow up later with a range report.

Did I mention it was filthy…

I bought new 4" myself. I usually run 147grn so I can use it in my suppressor guns. But, with 147grn this EMP was a jam-o-matic. I contacted SA and they said to return it. But I decided to do more research. I found on-line comments from other owners about 124grn not working but 147grn did. I took 2 boxes of 124grn ammo to the range and not a single problem! I contacted SA and said I wouldn't be returning the EMP. Now I have a thousand rounds of 124grn courtesy of SG Ammo and VISA. The EMP continues to run flawlessly with the 124s. Sometimes things are just PFM. Pure Fing Magic.

I have had way more expensive guns that were ammo sensitive. It’s not just the economical ones! I haven’t tried 147g in the EMP and probably won’t. Like you, I have suppressors to feed 😀.

Nice little set up. I kinda like it personally.

I always clean up a pew pew that I have adopted (new or used). It’s a good habit to keep the way I look at it. It also helps to find any defect right away.
