Experienced shooters and first use of SIG P320

I have noticed a surprising quirk with several shooters experienced with heavier all metal pistols shooting the P320 for the first time. Repeated failures to feed or double feeds. Trying to diagnose the issue, I identified the grip as the culprit. I won't call it limp wristing because these are experienced shooters. But I did discover their grip on the P320 was the same as on the heavier pistol. Then we tested the theory when I ran multiple rounds through the P320 with no failures. We were able to clear up the problem by tightening up the shooter's grip. The grip sinply needs to be more firm when moving to the lighter framed pistol. Your results may vary but I share my experience for what it's worth.

I was completely unaware of any accidental discharges that this particular firearm was plagued with. In my case it's range use only with RD optics. It's a GREAT shooting semi-auto. Have close to 1000 rds of 115 grain bullets through it and not one issue with jamming or the feed hanging up. My 2 cents.

i love mine too, as well it is a range toy.

it was not mentioned if the Sig P-320 in the original posting was an all metal or polymer gun....(mine is all polymer)

that being said, i have gone from very heavy all steel 1911's to lighter ALL steel CZ's, Beretta's, and what ever other all steel guns i have, and had no grip issues.....

not even the Glocks, which NO ONE likes that grip.......

but, i am not as experienced as the ones @HayesGreener speaks of.

but @HayesGreener was there and was a witness to the issues, so i dunno.

Yes the P320 was a polymer grip frame. I doubt we would have seen this in an all metal gun. The shooters I referenced had been shooting high volume with Beretta 92FS and full size 1911's. The neuromuscular memory for the heavier guns was there. It was an easy fix

The gun that was that a-ha moment for me when I started shooting was the P320 X5 Legion with the tungsten infused grip. I was like “Shooting is Easy!”

Just imagine if I’d bought a Glock instead. I’d probably be into something infinitely more interesting like ant farms or bottle cap collecting.
