Do not read this if you're eating at a food truck in la, ca.

I survived this

Wife and I went to Baskin Robbins here after eating at our favorite Chinese restaurant.
Baskin Robbins was closed indefinitely by the Health Department.
this happens at so many places........unkempt kitchen area, sometimes the dining area.

sometimes, it's as "simple" as the hot water in the dishwashing machine, isn't up to specs, as that was reported at 1 place here.

other times, well, bugs getting into the place, and the pest control contract is not kept up with.

just another day in paradise.

read an article along these lines about a month or so ago. seems licensed food venders and restaurants were complaining that they paid for their license, getting inspected out the wazoo, while the state allowed, some said encouraged, illegal venders, claiming that the illegal would get their licenses and inspected as soon as they could. If they are not going to follow the law about licensing what make one think they will care about food quality?

same thing with my former barber..

he was a barber for like 60 + years..in my state you have to be licensed.

yearly cost, nominal fee like $50 for the year.

he would complain that nearly every street corner location, the barbers there were not licensed.

no one fined them, or shut them down..

just like gun owners....go after the legal gun owners, and ban many things, yet the law makers do nothing about criminals, and slap them on the wrist.

Full disclosure, I haven't eaten in a restaurant in ~6 years and I haven't had Take Out or delivery in just over 1 year. So, this really doesn't apply to me.

They have a segment on the local ABC affiliate called Restaurant Roundup. They check publicly accessible inspection records and tell you which restaurant have failed and repeatedly failed their inspections.

It gives you a good idea of where to eat and where NOT to eat.

Of course, it's also a distraction from the real News that they Don't Want you to know but it is at least a little useful.
