Do you plan to keep that basic waffle stock or do you have plans to upgrade it. That same one came on my SOLGW Legacy M4 Loyal 9 and I hated it. It was one of the first components I felt needed to be upgraded. I went with the UBR Gen2 from Magpul. It is a bit on the "heavy" side but when you intend to butt stroke a mfr in the head you want it to have some mass and some density, lol. This is my first AR15/5.56 build/purchase. I have since added a Magpul polymer bipod, AFG and Streamlight TLR RM2 and Magpul MS-1 Padded sling. I use the PMAGs with the window and some of the stainless steel 30rd mags OEM. Have not trained enough with it yet to have a real performance preference.View attachment 117805
Just picked it up from my LGS. PSA upper and lower, 300blk, just need ammo now…..![]()
Not sure on the stock yet, planning on some kind of dot site for it, but just got hit with another medical bill, so I’ll have to wait a bit, going to get some ammo here soon, first AR I have owned since 1996, got rid of all mine back then…..Do you plan to keep that basic waffle stock or do you have plans to upgrade it. I know that feeling first hand. I just spent $1400 on labs for a new doctor that the VHA won't cover and would not perform for an out of network doctor/specialist.Not sure on the stock yet, planning on some kind of dot site for it, but just got hit with another medical bill, so I’ll have to wait a bit, going to get some ammo here soon, first AR I have owned since 1996, got rid of all mine back then…..
Still fairly early though...lolI bought nothing today.
I learned and trained on irons when I was about 10 and then got more formal training in JROTC followed by Reg Army. Maintained Expert Marksmanship throughout my 6yr 11mo 2day enlistment. I've tried one RDS on a rental VP9sk and it literally fell apart and ejected the battery while I was using it. I decided I did not need an RDS moving forward. It is just another technical mechanism that can fail when I need it most so I just don't bother. If I put an optic on this Loyal 9 it will likely be a thermal scope of some sort. Those are expensive so I am not in a big hurry. Other priorities and the like. What RDS are you considering? What features made you select that one? If you want to try red dots and keep your cost down have a look at the Romeo MDC micros. Sig makes a wide range of priced red dots. Check Amazon to compare. I personally like adjustable brightness on the dot and a green reticle, and the shake awake feature. Holosuns as well but they are not made in the U.S. if you step up to Trijicon or Leuopold or Eotech or higher end Sigs you can easily be at $600-$1000I learned and trained on irons when I was about 10 and then got more formal training in JROTC followed by Reg Army.
