9/7/2026 range visit (not for the weak of heart).

Well I decided to go the range to get some therapy but I think my therapist had a mental breakdown. I started by cleaning up other people’s mess

Not thrilled about it since I was looking into ranges again to switch too. While cleaning up I found some unspent .22 in the mess.

I just wish people personally would stop doing this stuff. It’s a private range and cost 300 bucks a year. I could go on but why bother if I found a range that offers more value for 55 bucks more a year (and has competition going on).

With that been said I forgot my optic tool at home. I did bring my XDm Elite in 9MM and CZ S2 with me to try to get used to optics.

All I’ll say is I had better days

I had a hard time focusing and getting the job done.

Hi @Jsimon78,

Interesting. I'd never seen any polymer coated .22LR ammo. I guess CCI even sells a Christmas package. ;)

At least you made it to the range this week. I didn't go last week and my schedule looks too busy for this week. I think I'm starting to get an itchy trigger finger. :p Don't worry about that target. I see only one miss off the silhouette that could've gotten you in trouble. The rest are doing damage on the bad guy. You'll tighten up that mess next time. ;)

Thank you for your indulgence,

That shotgun you were patterning has a large spread 😂. Everyone has a bad day at the range at some point. A bad day at the range is still better than a good day at work. My next to the last range trip the arthritis in my hands was flared up and after my first magazine I was lucky to keep round on target.

The indoor range I go to has annual membership but they still allow individual gun rentals/range time for non members. The latter tend to leave their mess as well, though not all, and they’re also usually the folks one might prefer not be adjacent while shooting.

I suspect the latter is also where the holes in the ceiling and chips in the wall came from (along with Belt Fed). Really looking forward to their reopening after renovations when they should be asking folks to leave after their second target miss.

Thanks for sharing.
RSO, should have froze the range. Bring it to everyone’s attention that he would need to temporarily close the range because of the jackas*** on lane 2. Public humiliation might clear that behavior up.
You’re a good dude for doing that. Not many folks leave it better than they found it.
Btw, That CZ is one sexy a** pistol.

It was the 2 time in 3 days. I almost did 3 days in a row but kinda don’t want to explain the process of Iowa. 😉😉

Usually my back starts acting up on when I’m done. I almost texted the guy that manages it and tell him that I was going to clean it up but I didn’t make the mess (I clean up my mess)

I wish that my range would do something about the people that do this. I left this range before because they went to 100% members and it went down hill. I came back because I thought it might have changed. I’m seeing a pattern again.

It’s a 24/7 member range and no staff manning it. Some people just don’t care and screw the rest of us. Personally I try to clean up because that’s common courtesy. Plus I have a tendency to shoot a couple of 100 rounds per range session and we all know what kinda mess that is.

The CZ Shadow 2 is a good pistol. Little expensive but fun to shoot (so is the XDm’s I have)

$300 bucks a year!! I'm jealous! Most ranges here are $600-$800 a year for basic memberships. Went to the range on Saturday and it was a hot mess. One shooter was ejected for tagging the ceiling three times in a row and the couple next to me had never shot before. RSO was on it and supper helpful but I kept worrying about getting a AD in the *** :).

Wow! The cost of membership. I haven't shot at an indoor range in probably 30 years and where I live now the closest one is 50+ miles away. I honestly don't remember what membership was back then as the company I worked for sponsored me but I know it couldn't have been $100. My pistol range is behind my garage and is a 12" hanging steel plate and the only idiot on it is usually just me.

If I hang a steel plate next to the garage and shoot at it, I loose my 2A rights and my toys 🙄.

It’s the same at the outdoor range I go to. But there are people who clean it up every day or every other day. They clean it up for the brass. If no one cleaned it up the parking lot could be regraveled with brass in a week lol.
