The 19 year old may have had issues but that's not the responsibility of the family who's home he broke into. They had no idea of his intentions and I believe the homeowner made the best decision in the moment.

Absolutely,. I live in a rural area on a farm. Anybody put here at night is obviously up to no good and will be treated accordingly. I never ever want to harm anyone, but I will defend my wife and myself and those I love. You threaten to harm us and you’ll not like what happens next….

we are very rural as well, and no reason to be pulling the test of door knobs around here, we have a neighborhood, but cops are 8 to 10 if lucky and more likely 20 minutes to arrive, same with ambulance and if you the fire department.... forget about it, they arrive in time to haul over the smoldering remains
we have a very big county and not enough deputies

our volunteer unit is excellent and i no way did i mean they are bad.. its just it takes long time to get to us
our community was going to buy a surplus water wagon and a pump , but insurance got in the way for the association
i guess once you go down the road of maybe helping a fire go out, the liability goes waaayy up
