I moved from Illinois with my wife and 2 young children in 1985 and felt I was leaving a great place to live (small town) to the enormous State of Texas and a much larger city. While going back to visit the folks in the mid 90's I realized the Illinois we were visiting was nothing like the Illinois we left. My wife and I were talking the other night how we seldom identify with being from Illinois. Although with each gun purchase its clear, ease of purchase and place of birth. On 12/31/1985 we both had grins since that was the day we all officially landed in Texas. Our 3rd child was born in TX so the whole family claims/lives off his real Texan blood

. After 4 decades we are thrilled we made the decision. I realize not everyone has the opportunity to leave just so thankful we did. I will admit, in the beginning being seperated from family sucked but once retired they came here for extended stays.
