He recited the pledge at about 3 minutes and 15 seconds into the video.
"One question for you. What kinda government do we have?"It should be in school, period. Also there should be a flag in every classroom. I don’t care what political views or anything else people have, it shouldn’t have been taken out. We “all” live in this country. It’s sad that politics plays into so much in every day life.
One question for you. What kinda government do we have?
I pledge allegiance
to the Flag
of the United States of America,
and to the Republic
for which it stands,
one Nation
under God,
indivisible,
with liberty and justice for all.
Brings back the memories of my new wife pinning the badge on me after taking a pledge very similar if not exactly this pledge. One thing most people are unaware of, this pledge and those similar, have NO expiration date! I feel that I am still bound to that oath.Plus, an addition for some of us.
5 U.S. Code § 3331 - Oath of office
An individual, except the President, elected or appointed to an office of honor or profit in the civil service or uniformed services, shall take the following oath: “I, ___, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.” This section does not affect other oaths required by law.

The U.S. Pledge of Allegiance (1892) was an expression of allegiance to the flag, part of a campaign to promote nationalism in schools led by the children's magazine, The Youth's Companion to sell flags to schools and have children recite the pledge. Colonel George Balch, a Civil War veteran, wrote a similar pledge five years before Bellamy's:I pledge allegiance
to the Flag
of the United States of America,
and to the Republic
for which it stands,
one Nation
under God,
indivisible,
with liberty and justice for all.
