Was doing my monthly cleaning/lube of my EDC pistol (Taurus GX4 compact), I noticed a piece of cleaning patch down in the striker channel, now would this cause any malfunction, no clue, but I do know nothing including oil/lube should be in there. So, on striker pistols, double check the channel for anything out if the normal

Wait til you get an out of battery detonation, you'll find all kinds of stuff in there.

i'm wondering how in da hell did it get there in the first place..??

that channel can barely fit a Q-tip to get past the striker...i know this, cuz when i clean the slide, i dab a Q-tip, in there to get off any carbon/grit....but that IS NOT a full take apart everything slide, just the standard field strip.

i can't see how a patch got in there..

unless was the slide completely taken apart....?

when i fully disassembled my G-17, i use a Q-tip to get into the striker channel, not a patch.

i dunno.......

something to be aware of, especially for a ccw gun...

It's possible, depends on how bad it was and what caliber. you know you had a bad one when you seperate the halve and dump out stuff that you don't know what it is. lol

I had a failure to fire in my Browning Safari II 7MM on a big wild boar. A buddy got the shot. Took the Browning to a gunsmith and he found a wadded up patch way down in the innards of the gun. Boy did I feel stupid
