New turn and possibly new range buddy.

Well it’s been about 4 years since I started into this hobby. My mom was one of those “Chicago” types when I started dumping money 💰 into “toys” and I usually got an ear full because of it (yes I help my mom out here in the wonderful state of Illinois).

Now let’s forward to this last week. My mom applied for her (anti-2A) FOID card. She’s in her 70’s and with my help getting educated (don’t blame me for been retarted) about firearm safety and how to handle one.

The one thing I tripped upon is I let her handle my new adoption, the CZ SP01. I had to shoot it down for now because of the fact I just got a little while ago (and put 100 rounds through it).

So the journey begins this Sunday at the range. I also gave her a set of my electric muffs that were still in the box (2nd hobby from shooting). I’ll see how long I keep my “nice” toys.

you may have created a MONSTER.....

she's gonna out buy the number of guns you got...!!!!

she's gonna wanna go hunting now....

you're gonna have to go with her, cuz she's gonna need YOU to pull that 300 lbs buck outta the woods....

feeling like a dumbazzz now..????.... :ROFLMAO:......(j/k)

frankly,,, GOOD for her...

she at the very least can "feel protected" when she is alone.

see to it now too, that not only YOU, but an NRA instructor learns her.

let her try "simple guns"...like maybe a .38 special, only cuz they are easier to operate, and don't jam if she "limp wrists it"........

but....maybe she'll really want a Desert Eagle.........!!!!!!

this ain't her...is it..??

She likes hammer fired so far. Of course I pulled out the CZ P09C and P10C to let her start getting familiar with “dealing with a firearm” and she gravitated towards the P09C (frankly I could loose one of them to her). I also let her deal with the SP01 and dry fire it.

But she will be fine. We all started somewhere and got addicted.

no matter what SHE wants, training is paramount, and we all know that..

practice too......is important.

it is good to "see and hear" that an older person wants to get involved.

no matter where one lives, crime ain't going down if at all, i do believe that many "blue cities/states misreport the actual statistics" of crimes in thier territory.

in time too, maybe we will have another member here, nudging down the seniority list @Belt Fed who really does not wanna be the oldest one here.......!!!!!

 :ROFLMAO:  ;)

She does want to practice. I been to several ranges since I started a few years ago. I’ll have to contact the person that runs mine and see what I have to do till her confidence level is in good shape.

My wife which has never been around firearms before she met me has been wanting to shoot, but haven't taken the time yet. Glad you go a range buddy! Firearm safety is important even if family doesn't go shoot

She is learning before she goes. More than what I did at her stage. She will pick it up really quickly and been a Marine Corps brat does help.

Hi,

Is there a chapter of "A Girl And A Gun" near you?

All the best,

Cliff

I’ll be looking for it. I want her to realize it’s not just a guy thing. I’ll be going to Iowa Sunday with my mom so she can get used to “her” CZ SP01. Mines well spend something for mom.
