The .22 WRMF, the .32 ACP and the .380 ACP in "pocket automatics".
The upshot from the short video was...
This is why I prefer to carry a minimum of a 3.5" barrel when it comes to either the .380 or the .32. My health and life depend on it.
The upshot from the short video was...
- .22 Magnum: Isn't dependable enough to use as a "last ditch" backup gun for SD. (Rimfires can't be relied upon 100% of the time. Not good.) Clothing can inhibit penetration and any failure to fire at a crucial moment can result in a negative outcome. Short barrel of pocket pistol can reduce velocity/penetration.
- .32 ACP/7.65 Browning: Ignore the "hollow point" canard. Use the hottest FMJ the pistol can tolerate. (Penetration is your strongest ally.) The centerfire attribute is a good one. (Hint: It goes bang every time and has been doing it for 117 years.)
- .380ACP/9mm Browning/Kurz: Use the heaviest bullet to achieve the deepest penetration possible. Hollow point ammunition may, or may not, expand. Again, penetration is a good bet. You can't always rely of the shorter 9mm to penetrate adequately and expand. (You can have one, or the other, but not both.)
