What's with the European spec .32 ACP FMJ shortage?

"SOLD OUT"
I hate those words! It was a chore finding the hotter Euro ammo in FMJ for the Zastava M70 pistol I recently ordered. Finding them available in large bulk quantities isn't a problem and in JHP, but a few boxes of 50 FMJ? Exhausting search. So I settled for 500 rounds (ten boxes of 50) of Privi Partizan, 71 Grain FMJ for $209.00 with no shipping costs. Didn't want that much, but what the heck. More time at the range.

This is fine for some great target practice. You need to invest in a single-stage reloading press. Carefully work up some 71-grain FMJ loads to their maximum safe pressures without sacrificing accuracy.

If you are involved in a shooting, the subject of "making super-hot ammunition" will not likely surface in conjunction with the 7.65 mm Browning cartridge.

The d@mned US lawyers forced a "watered down" version of the the 7.65 Browning. This is why the Fiocchi 73-grain, FMJ "blue box" (of Nevada manufacture, BTW) has risen to the top of the .32 ACP heap.

The Buffalo Bore 75-grain LFP load is an excellent bet when it comes to commercial personal defense loads. It is costly, but how much is your life worth?

I think I'll be happy with the Privi Partizan, as it is loaded to Euro specs, over 2,200 PSI more than American. We'll see. Range report to follow when it all comes together. The Zastava shipped today. :)

Everyone sells the 7.65mm Browning short. When loaded to 21,500 psi, FMJ bullets can, and will, handily pass through the human sternum. The longer the barrel, the deeper the penetration. (We all know how this works.)

Dobbinski: I think you'll be happy with the Zastava. If you find signs of surface wear, degrease it. Then use cold bluing to "touch-up" the worn spots. Re-apply the proper grease and gun oil(s) to the appropriate surfaces and enjoy the pistol. You will find it fun (read, entertaining) and the piece can be a life saver. At 21 feet, it can stop an aggressor in very short order.
