I went to college with a guy whose family was in the bail bond business. He eventually took over the business from his father. This was back in the days when you memorized people's phone numbers because smart phones didn't exist. One of my party favors was to (appropriately) mention I had my bail bondsman's phone number memorized due to frequent need. Every now and then someone would call my "bluff" and dial the number. Pretty funny to see the look of newfound respect creep across their face when a bail agent answered the phone. 😆

My neighbor's cat is on a first-name basis with the local bondsman.
