Hellcat Pro Comp Lateral Slide Play?

Hey all,

I had a question about my Hellcat Pro Comp and the way that the slide sits on the rails. I've noticed that the slide itself has what I would think would be considered a substantial amount of play on the rails, even when the slide is in the forward position. The slide itself can visibly move side to side at the front and back of the gun. I can also hear the slide rattle when I shake the gun side to side, which I'm not sure is normal or not. I know with polymer framed pistols some tolerance is to be expected, but since this is my first carry gun, I am not sure how much is too much. I apologize if this is a strange question, but its been on my mind a lot since I started carrying this handgun for protection on a daily basis. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated!

I've seen this complaint somewhere on the forum before but I cannot seem to find the thread. If my memory serves me correctly, the consensus was it isn't abnormal for there to be a little bit of play but not sloppy.

Hopefully someone recalls the thread I am referencing and can find it.

If all else fails, call SA and ask their opinion.

Yeah Ive been sifting through the forum to see if there was another thread that matched what I have been experiencing, but haven't found anything that seems mention exactly that. I obviously haven't seen everything, so I'll keep looking. I appreciate the reply!

The funny part is if I do happen to stumble across the thread I am thinking of, I won't be able to find this one to tell you! 😂

I have an early Hellcat Pro, non comp. I haven't noticed any lateral play in mine but I'll check it closely a little later today. I'm curious if you have noticed any accuracy issues with it?
