A Doctor’s Signature Can Destroy Someone’s Gun Rights Indefinitely in Pennsylvania

And all the while big pharma is pushing depression meds of every sort on TV like its candy. See your doctor about blah, blah, blah. Many parents now casually allow their teens to start depression meds because they are "sad." BAM!...There goes a whole slew of future job oppotunities for them.

especially when married 😉

COWPIES! If there is any "truth" to that statement it is because the head shrinks are a self-perpetuating system that continually finds new "disorders, so they can suck $$$ from people forever after.
As far as mental disorders listed in the international classification of diseases, I agree with you. I hope homophobia and Islamophobia hasn't been added yet. :)

There is an interesting unintended consequence to this issue. An avid firearms enthusiast who is experiencing issues with which a therapist might help, might go without the assistance when it might in fact help. I'm thinking of instances like post-divorce, post debilitating injury accident, post death of spouse. Just a thought....I'm not espousing anything other than what I typed.

I have had to go a couple of times in my career after officer involved shootings. Those were mandatory to ensure there were no issues returning to work. The visits are part of my medical records and hopefully the contents are not open, but we all know how that can go.
Common sense is running low in this country. Unfortunately, too many people now think in black and white. Being cleared for work is better than what so many stressed LEOs did back in the day where seeking help was stigmatized, which was becoming an alcoholic.

The pa plan sounds like another obama idea. If a medical professional asks if you have guns, tell them no and it's none of their business anyway. You're not under oath. If they ask if you're depressed, say "who wouldn't be, I'm married."

I pick our primary care doctors by asking them how they feel about the 2nd amendment because I carry everywhere, including to the doctor's office. Our latest DFNP is a woman who took up shooting soon after I asked her that question. She loves it, goes to an indoor range owned by man and wife. The wife teaches all the women students only, it's been a very successful idea.
