Here's a simple read supported by some ideologue representing the "Gifford's Group" for gun control who tells a bald faced lie about 1/3 the way into the video. He tells the host that there is NO federal law requiring background checks. What the heck does he think the NICS is? TIP: He knows dang well what it is but like other ideologues, he's not above telling a good lie if it'll help his agenda.
What he's trying to spin is that there are some states who require nothing other/more than the NICS check when he wants further requirements. He wants 'universal' checks for all gun sales/purchases (this would include even you gifting a gun to your son or dad, or dad gifting one to you, etc, etc). He's spouting the 'Gun show' loophole (which doesn't exist), and the N Caroline loophole (which also doesn't exist) as a need for this stupidity. It's typical gun control advocacy BS at it's best or worst... (your call)... trying to use the increased numbers of violent crimes involving the use of a guns during the past year on the lack of total background checks.
