Contacted Springfield and they won't sell an unthreaded barrel to me. Not an option. But they said an aftermarket barrel could void the warranty. After all the BS I went through with the several garbage hex red dots that didn't work and now this I think my best option is to sell my Springfields...
I bought a hellcat rdp for carry and now that the great state of Illinois considers threaded barrels as assault weapons I'd be burned at the stake if I actually had to use it. What is the best aftermarket barrel for this that's not an "assault" barrel?
Springfield is going to send me a shield as a replacement this time. Told them I have zero faith in hex and a third hex being mailed to me is unacceptable. Hopefully this works

I'm so frustrated with this junk. Not only did they send me one replacement they sent me 2 on the same day. I did the right thing and called them and sent it back. I shouldn't of. Apparently I picked the wrong one of the two. Exactly one month to the day my replacement...
Update. Springfield replied to my email Monday and I shipped the red dot out Wednesday. A new one is on the way and should have it tomorrow (Friday). The lady I spoke with on the phone said some had a defect that was draining the battery and they'd get me a new one. I'm really impressed how fast...
