    Shooting Insurance

Well, I changed companies and upgraded my policy. My 'peace of mind' now costs me about the price of a 45cal round daily, but it's worth it, not to be burdened with a load of fear.

    Shooting Insurance

I agree all insurance is based on fear. I carried for years before I realized it'd probably bankrupt me if I ever needed to use lethal force. I pay about the cost of a single 9mm round every day for that peace of mind.

    Little Walter?

I believe that's the same gun and caliber that the original James Bond carried.

I Live In Another America, and it's Good.

I lived in a big-truck for 10 years. I also saw a different world outside of the Bible belt. I'm grateful to be in the north Alabama area.

    Anyone gone back to steel?

If I'm not carrying a 1911, it's only a substitute. Some plastic guns would make a good backup for the 1911.

Why I Want My Gun to Fail

The only good thing I can say about RIA, is they made me proficient in clearing malfunctions in a 1911.

    Can you make the shot?

I try to stay proficient and use small targets at a good distance. BUT... Remember the objective is to "Stop the Threat", not to kill anyone. If I were to make a head shot, unless it was unavoidable, I hope I'd be able to convince the DA that my target was lower. I recently renewed a...

For you 1911 guys how many mags do you carry?

Those plastic 9mm's are made for popping caps. The 1911 was made to put a bullet on target. One extra mag should be plenty. When the threat is elevated, i do like to have another 2 mags handy.

First Look: Polished Blued SA-35 9mm

I was glad when I found a sa-35. I hope it's later than the ejecter problem. I refinished mine, it wasn't meant for a holster. The better finish is a needed upgrade.

John Moses Browning born in Ogden, Utah on January 23, 1855

I love JMB. If it wasn't for him, I'd probably be carrying plastic. (I hope to catch him on the other side of eternity.)

    Happy 10/22 day!

The 10-22 was the first rifle that I bought. It has always been my favorite. And after many thousands of rounds and 40 years later, it's still a target gun.

    Walther ppks

I've got the Bersa clone and I'm comfortable to carry it, but I doubt it was made to last like the PPK.

    Two of Remington's biggest failures...

I've got a couple of R1 1911s, from NY and Huntsville. They needed minor tweeking on the break-in, but they are a primary carry now.

    WHY A REVOLVER?

I've got a Taurus Gudge that's prone to jam, it's sensitive to ammo.
