I think i understand. I own an AR Pistol w/ a brace and am considering converting to SBR just by paying the tax, replacing the brace for a stock and calling it good. That is a legit conversion, right? I won't be changing the barrel though (7.5")

so, pay the tax, get the forms in for NFA, remove the stabilizer brace, then once in receipt of the stamp, put on a stock? Is that what you're suggesting--? what'd i miss?

so if a guy has a pistol that he was considering converting to use a regular stock anyway..... would he be compelled to do it now ahead of the deadline or hope that this gets shot down in court and wait? I agree this is an ex post facto law criminalizing what was previously legal...

thanks for these recommendations; just received the slide back, new screws and am going to loctite blue it all down now. Loctite purple is hard to come by except amazon.

I just got a new XDM elite, holster, mags and a trijicon RDS. Once it all comes together, i need to do some training, perhaps a course. Central TX (ETTS perhaps)

A Ranger NCO I trust said that he hated the 9 and would've rather carried a shotgun. I carry S&W MP 40 shield and it's been trying to convince me that my grip isn't sufficient to handle it for 2-3 years. The 9mm price and capacity features do seem to be a bonus.
