HEX Wasp Torture Test: Did It Survive?

off the top of my head, Wasp has a sturdier housing, front hood to protect the lens, the stronger HEX shape, and serrations on the rear of the housing. I think the WASP is a dot that is designed with serious use in mind and it will stand up to it.

HEX Wasp Torture Test: Did It Survive?

You didn't. I'm not sure that I'm as worried about the whole drop test deal as we tend to be in the industry. I think that the drop test standard came from a completely different use of red dots that being mounted on a pistol. When people started mounting a red dot on a rifle as a secondary...

A Sight with Sting: HEX Wasp Review

One of the most overlooked ways to get that dot to appear on presentation is a tiny shift in your attention on your grip. Give this a try as you present. As you drive the gun on to target from compressed ready, progressively increase your grip pressure with your PINKIES. Typically as you reach...

First Look: Springfield Armory Emissary 1911 Review

I loved reading through all the comments on this thread. Lots of different opinions. I think that is what I like most about this pistol. It is classic, but at the same time it is different enough that it stirs a different feeling from different people. Too many manufacturers today are trying to...

    First-Time Handgun Owner’s Guide

Good points. I have a specific reason that I don’t teach to “check if a gun is unloaded.” This phrase has the expectation that the gun is unloaded and often we tend to see what we expect to see. A point that was driven home when I watched one of the more prominent figures in the gun industry nd...

    How To Load a Pistol

peglegjoe - I agree with Hans. The extractor moving over the cartridge rim isn’t the best way to load.Loading upfrom the mag then adding the round back in or using a second mag is going to be more reliable and better for your gun.

    Mastering the 9mm Ronin

BradB - I don't think JMB would mind one bit, especially when you consider that the 1911 is derived from the model 1900 which was chambered in .38 ACP. As it evolved to the 1904, then 1907 the Army got a hold of it and they specified the .45 ACP. Amazing evolution if you ask me.

    First-Time Handgun Owner’s Guide

El Lobo - Thanks for the compliment. Seems like we had a similar path. My first handgun was a Buckmark in .22lr. My family wasn't a gun family so my dad didn't teach me to shoot (I taught him later in life.) I shot the snot out of that .22 and after 5000 rounds I bought my first center fire...
