Serious rifle competitors for long range work measure every charge to the fraction of a grain, match bullets precisely by weight, etc. Doint this gives the best/most consistent ammo possible. The great the variability the less consistency you receive.

Cooper was pretty hard nosed, but he knew his stuff, and he could certainly shoot. I trust his opinions far more than most “gun writers, est those of thee last couple decades.. Accuracy IS the single most important thing (after actually having a gun with you).
