    Practical Skills: Speed Your Reloads

Speed comes from efficiency - you might check out the article as you're putting words in my mouth. Eventually hand speed enters the equation - but that's down the line.

    Non dominant hand shooting

I shoot support hand only all the time in competition - I don't use it as a training boon for shooting freestyle or stronghand only. It's good to force you to go through all of the fundamentals of grip and stance before addressing the trigger but it's not a boon to your freestyle shooting...

XDMAN's take on the Springfield Hellcat RDP

I'd be tempted to try a comp with a much larger port. Ideally - a large 2 or 4 port comp and pair it with a good reduced power mag spring and some +P 115s. I immediately was curious if they're going to release a comp for the OSP XDME.

XDMAN's take on the Springfield Hellcat RDP

ports are usually mid barrel - also called "popple holes" The problem is these vent gas before the projectile is up to speed and they apply downward pressure mid barrel. Comps bleed gas after the projectile is up to speed and apply downward force where it combats muzzle climb best - at the end...

    Practical Skills: Mastering Trigger Manipulation

There's a pretty good argument to be made it could be not locking your strong hand wrist that's magnifying issues with trigger control.

Why I Was Wrong About Red Dots…

This is the cowitness on my EDC - the sights come up about 1/5th the way of the screen - this is - in my opinion - ideal for cowitness irons - it doesn't occlude the window too much. The sights are there if you need them - it's like shooting an LCP. If the sights were fully visible through the...

Why I Was Wrong About Red Dots…

I don't think we're communicating well. Learning to shoot a dot on a pistol well allows you to target focus with irons as well. a full sight picture is irrelevant since most sights are sighted to to the tip of the front sight blade. If you're frosty with your given window and your index is...

New match video with XDM Elite OSP

Every gun loses some gas straight up at the breech face - introducing an LCI provides a pathway for that gas. The stuff on the side of the gun is less obtrusive. I'd recommend using an extractor based LCI if you ahve to have one - but the XDM OSP has an internal extractor.

New match video with XDM Elite OSP

Also while I'm wishing - NO LOADED CHAMBER INDICATORS ON OSP GUNS - gas comes up through the LCI and smokes the window of the optic pretty quick. I have to wipe off the window after each practice / match because there is so much carbon/soot on the glass.

Why I Was Wrong About Red Dots…

Just as a heads up - in your development as a shooter - you're not "all in" on the dot you're probably still subconsciously using the irons to align the gun. This is going to prevent you from developing a really strong index and really developing speed through hard target focus - which is what...

New match video with XDM Elite OSP

As far as polymer striker guns - pretty comparable. I could handle a little more texture on the side of the gun where the palm of the support hand lands and the grip to flare out at the bottom for easier reloading without the magwell attached but it is very capable. Super accurate and very...

Why I Was Wrong About Red Dots…

Lower 1/4 or 1/5 irons are usable as irons. the top of the front sight is the only part that matters.

    Taurus G3C 9mm FTF issue

Mine won't plunk any ammo - but it has no issues feeding - just extracting because the case hangs up in the chamber - extractor would skip off the rim.
