Good article, learned how it evolved. I have a Remington R1 1911 that has never failed yet and all I hear from other shooters is what a POS the R1 is. Anyone know otherwise? I’ve had mine for 14 yrs never failed yet.

I just watched the vid on disassembling the emissary someone just sent, thank you. I have to say I’m disappointed in the process of disassembling and using a tool to actually breakdown the whole gun. That’s just wrong to me being it’s a 1911 platform. Just talked myself out of purchasing one...

It appeals to me in the 4.25 .45acp version but I have a couple of questions. What's the bull barrel issue I see plenty of commenters state they don't like? Also what "tool" is SA referring to that you need to purchase? It doesn't state that it comes in the box along with the 2 mags.
